Aptamers resulting from the SELEX process are typically used by researchers in an ELISA format with readily available equipment. However, the skillset and equipment required to use aptamers in LFDs are more specialized and not as widespread. For aptamer developers to commence the LFD development work package, additional funding is typically required, yet funding will be easier to secure once proof-of-concept has been demonstrated.
To address this issue Hutano is offering its universal kit service to aid the translation of aptamer development (either post-SELEX modification of aptamers, or ELISA development) into a proof-of-concept LFD. Compared to other aptamer LFD developers, our service is offered at a lower price and faster turnaround time (1 week vs 8 weeks). This allows us to increase the ease and accessibility of developing aptamer-based LFDs.
